In which Blizzard deserves cupcakes for doing a good job
So the initial simcraft numbers are out for level 85. And boy oh boy, did blizzard do a good job of balancing.
That’s just over 1% between all 3 specs. If thats not knife edge worthy balance I’m not sure what is. They have also with bane of havoc and soul swap they have solved destruction and afflictions 2 biggest problems in regards to odds.
Affliction would always have issues in raid fights with adds that would die quickly, there was no way for it to get all the dots up in time and put out decent dps on those adds. This felt crappy, you weren’t able to contribute greatly. Then they gave you soul swap, when glyphed this allows you to copy your dots from one mob to another. Very very quickly. No more ramp up time. EVER.
Destruction on the other hand had problems that were the exact oposite, they could put out quick damage on adds, but with adds that died quickly. But if it was over an extended period of time their dps would fall behind compared to other specs that could multi dot effectively. Bane of havoc combined with a newer much stronger immolate solves this issue.
Demonology on the other hand has always (in my humble opinion) sat somewhere in between. Able to put damage on adds quickly, but with strong enough dots that they could also multi dot if needed. So instead they got several AOE dps tools, Hand of guldan and the new Hellfire combined with Immolation aura can put out huge numbers.
Bravo Blizzard, keep up the good work. 🙂
Oh yes but which one will edge out the others when you’re in Tier 11?!!! And in Tier 12? Don’t worry I’m sure there will be min/maxing specs over other specs soon enough!
That is the T11 numbers =p Technically its a easy BiS T11 list.
Watching how the specs scale, and which specs have a higher ‘skill cap’ will be interesting though. I have a sneaking suspicion that destruction with its double haste dipping will pull ahead.
